Key aspects of Reiki
  1. Energy flow: We are alive because life force energy flows through us. Chi flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis and can also be present and pass directly through the organs and tissues of the body. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. The free and balanced flow of healthy chi is the cause of wellbeing. When the flow of healthy chi is disrupted, it causes diminished functioning within the organs and tissues of the physical body. This can lead to physical or emotional problems.
  2. Hands-on-healing: Reiki practitioners use their hands to channel life force energy. By lightly placing their hands on the recipient’s body, the flow of energy is facilitated. When a person receives a Reiki session, the chi energy gets directed to the blockages. It releases them by charging the area with positive energy, and by raising the vibrations until natural flow is restored.
  3. Relaxation: Reiki moves through the body and can release negative emotions and trauma. This energy can bring calm, hope, confidence, self-love, and many other positive physical reactions. Reiki activates the parasympathetic nervous system and is often described as deeply relaxing and stress-reducing. Most people feel a sense of peace and calm during and after a session.
  4. Non-invasive: Reiki does no harm. It is considered safe and can be done in conjunction with other forms of medical or alternative therapies.
